中势力量中国当代艺术发展到今天已经可以很清晰的看出是按照西方当代艺术模式所演进的。当代艺术这个名词本身也是西方艺术史中的概念。按照西方艺术脉络所进行的中国当代艺术创作只会产生一些具有东方面孔的西方艺术变异体、日韩艺术变异体和大量还没有迈进艺术大门的现代美术作品。如果中国也有自己的当代艺术的话,那么中国的当代艺术应该遵循一种以传统艺术为根基、以东方固有的审美与情怀为导向、对传统艺术进行再创造、为传统艺术寻找新的可能性的方式来进行创作。

黄宾虹曾说:“欧人对于艺术以形似为成功,其最高境界乃同于我国之能品。我国艺术向重用笔,以成德为。于能品上有妙品、神品、逸品,以成功之作能品为起点。欧人则以能品为极。何以成斯之象?盖我国艺术家人品为尚,其所作不为名利所夺,故有超人之成功。”话语间道出了中国艺术之博大精深,远高于欧美,艺术家应以做人做艺术为本,不为名利方有造化。做为中国的艺术家我们要建立起自身的文化自信、人格自信,做本民族该有的艺术,形成中国艺术新的发展趋势和力量。

谈到艺术家就离不开创造力,创造是对未知的不断发现、对自我的不断超越。骄傲和愤怒是不断超越自我的原动力;情怀和格局决定了最后能走多远。但现在的大多数所谓“艺术家 ”们已不想这些,排着大队想办法混进商业模式中去,成为其中一个可以随时被代替的环节,已经没有了艺术家该有的热血和尊严。

艺术史本身就是淘汰史,不能苛求所有人都能成为真正的艺术家。艺术家本身可以存在于任何行业,绝不是从事了具有艺术性的行业就算是艺术家。每个时代出现的艺术家屈指可数,有些国家甚至都没有艺术家。只有那些为艺术提供了新的可能性并且这种可能性具有独立精神性的人才算是艺术家。艺术家的使命就是不断的寻找艺术新的可能性。

艺术史同时又是个语言史,艺术家的创造力或者说艺术家的价值在于他创造了一种新的语言方式。如果这种语言方式是相对唯一的,不能被其他语言方式替代的,同时这种语言方式是具有精神魅力的。那么,这样的艺术家就是位杰出的艺术家。

回到中国,做为中国的艺术家应归属于文人范畴,什么是文人?不仅是指有文化的人。真正的文人-士者。何谓士?金钱不乱心,权贵不移志,生死不阻行者也!艺术家没了什么也不能没了风骨。而现有的中国式的教育就是教人怎么占便宜不吃亏,而不是教育人如何有尊严地活着。科技再发达也无法开阔人类的胸襟,只有凭心智感悟天下,把生命个体置于宏阔的宇宙中,用自律和内醒的方式才能把握人性的进步。

世界永远是被少数人改变的,而最终多数人又会毁了这少数人中的多数人。如果有幸命运让你逆流而上,千万不要随波逐流。

It is clear that so far Chinese contemporary art has developed following the pattern of Western contemporary art. The phrase “Contemporary Art” itself is also a concept from Western art history. Chinese contemporary artworks created in accordance with the skeleton of Western art, would only produce mutated Western art that wears an Oriental facade, mutated Japanese and Korean art and numerous modern artworks that are still outside the ambit of art. If China has its own contemporary art, then Chinese contemporary art should follow a manner that rooted on the basis of traditional art, guided by Oriental aesthetics and sentiments, renovating traditional art and finding new possibilities for traditional art.

Huang Binhong used to say: “ European judges art based on how realistic it is, the best state of art for them is as same as fine examples in China. Chinese values dynamics of ink and morality reflected in paintings, and regards fine examples as the starting point of artistic success, that is, in the sequence of Chinese art, there are still fine works, masterpieces and literati paintings above fine examples. Conversely, European recognises fine examples as the best in art, how does it come to such a difference? The answer is that Chinese artists consider morality as the top priority instead of fame or fortune, and hence they succeed beyond others. ”中势力量

What he said demonstrated the extensive knowledge and profound scholarship of Chinese art, and which is far above the West. The fundamental character of an artist is morality. Only when artists stop chasing fame and fortune, can they create real art.

As Chinese artists, we should build confidence of our culture and of our own character, creating artworks that belong to our nation, and establishing new momentum and strength of Chinese art.

When talking about artists, we can not avoid creativity. Creating is to explore the unknown and to go beyond oneself. Pride and anger is the motivity of going beyond oneself, meanwhile, sentiments and vision determines how far one goes. However, most of those so called “artists” do not think about it, they try every shift available to mingle in commercial operations and become a component that is replaceable at any time, losing passion and honor that an artist should have.

Art history itself is a history of elimination, we can not demand people involving art all to be artists , artists could exist in any industry, but it does not make one an artist simply because he works in the artistic profession. Only a few artists emerge out in each era, some countries don’t even have any. What we call artists are those who provide art with new possibilities and meanwhile their possibilities are with Independent Spirit. The mission of artists is to seek new possibilities for art constantly.中势力量

Art history is also a linguistic history, the value and the creativity of an artist lie in the new linguistic way he created, and he could be considered a distinguished artist if his linguistic expression is relatively unique, irreplaceable and with ideological fascination at the same time.

Back to China culture context, artists should belong to the literati. Scholars are people not only educated well, but also with high self-cultivation, and whom are honored as “Shi” in China. They are people who are not lost when fortune is presented to them, when power is bestowed on them, nor when life and death is at stake. An artist can lose anything but his strength of character. The present Chinese style education is to teache people how to take advantages of others, rather than educating people how to live with dignity. No such advanced technology is able to teach people how to broaden their mind. We can only perceive the world with our own heart by putting each individual life into the vast universe, the advance of humanity can only be grasped by ways of self-discipline and introspection.

The world is always changed by the minority, however, the majority of people will destroy most of the minority. If fate grants you the opportunity to go against the stream, never drift with the tide.
