作品描述

Life Is An Illusion (2020) is an attempt on a fictional scene integrating painting and 3D software. It makes the original scene not a real forest, but an artificially constructed scene. The work is a silent and weak interrogation of the blurry reality. Our human body always has an unreal physical experience in the contemporary - the enormous amount of news every day seem to be the free food of thought, but what you can see is what is controlled and purposely presented to us. Our human's limited time and energy are repeatedly consumed every day in such an unreal situation. Faced with an overly powerful opponent, the individual will can only reflect the ideal of premature castration, even the energy and courage of pursuing the truth are drained.
Resonating the idea of "Country vs. City life" in the VR group show, this work was born from the artist pondering and reflecting on the reality, where the urbanization has been one of the most important propositions in China. The price of having the modern and clean cities has been concealed by the reality, where souls have nowhere to wander - the life that we think as real has become very illusory. Therefore, as a quote from The Diamond Sutra,
" All composed things are like a dream,
a phantom, a drop of dew, a flash of lightning.
That is how to meditate on them,
that is how to observe them."
the title speaks to this status quo.

《生生道場 如夢如電》 是繪畫與3D軟件的一個虛構場景的一次嘗試，這樣看上去原始的場景並非真實的某個森林，其實是被人為虛擬的構建出來的。作品是人對模糊的真實性的默默的也很微弱的質問，因為在當下的環境中，人的肉身總有一種不真實的肉身體驗感，每天上萬條新聞好像自由的能得知一切，但你所能見的卻是被人為控制的能讓其能見的，人有限的時間和精力每天被消耗在這樣非真實的狀況中，個體意志面對過份強大的對手只能體現出被過早閹割的理想，甚至連追求真實的精力和勇氣都被消磨。就像主題鄉村城市一樣，城鎮化可能是近來中國最重要的一個命題，但城市的乾淨整潔的代價卻是被無處流浪的真實的被掩蓋，我們看到以為真實的生活變得非常虛幻。所以結合金剛經裡面的一句話「一切有為法，如夢幻泡影，如露亦如電」作為作品名。
