<Vitrines# Donna Hardy>

1. Lifted out of the shore of Shoe- bury Common Beach in Essex, this mollusc shell was held by Donna Hardy as a sentimental reminder of her place of birth. Displayed as an ornament on her coffee table, the shell was used both as an ash tray for smoking cigarettes and as a plate for catching dropped pieces of crack rock when smoking cocaine out of her homemade pipe. Found on the floor of her appartment at Lime House Estate in Peckham, South London, the shell has been preserved and displayed in its found condition.

2. Left to Donna in the will and testiment of her grandmother, this antique eighteenth century hand cut stem vase was kept on Donna’s bed side table. Between the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century, cut glass
was highly desirable and typi- cally used as decorative table ware. Glass tableware was very expensive and was thus primarily displayed when entertaining guests where it was intended to reflect its owners social standing.

3. Found on Donna Hardy’s floor, this pink economy hairbrush contains strands of bleech blonde colour, synthetically manufactured hair.

4. Made of durable glass, akin to Pyrex, this butt plug can with- stand bumps, knocks and ex- tremes in temperatures. The first bead is tapered at the tip, allowing it to easily be inserted before swelling to a filling diam- eter of just over 1 inch. The fol- lowing three beads are smoothly spherical with a slim- neck measuring just 0.75 inches wide between each bead. Attached to the butt plug is a Lovehunny Intense Double Stro- ker. The Double Stoker is a twin-textured rubber sleeve de- signed to enhance male mastur- bation. Donna Hardy used the Lovehunny Double Stroker and butt plug in conjunction during anal masturbation.

5. Crack pipes are generally very short, to minimise the time be- tween evaporating and losing strength. This often causes cracked and blistered lips.

6. This sterling silver ‘Mum’ Heart Locket Pendant was found clutched in Donna Hardy’s left hand upon her being found dead on the floor of her appartment on August 8, 2011 by Metropolitan
Police officer, Mark Dewey. This locket has thus been preserved and displayed here in its found state.

7. Found on Donna Hardy’s bedside table, this baby’s milk bottle was used to feed her 6 month old son, Damian Rodgers. Residue left on the inside surface of the bottle indicates that Damian was fed from the bottle with both artificial SMA powder milk and natural breast milk.

8. This Nipple and Clit Clamp was found in a caravan in Tooting, South London. The Nipple and Clit Clamp is a sex toy which can be attached to the nipples and clitor- ous to inflict pain through a restriction of blood flow. Some people derive erotic pleasure from seeing nipple clamps applied. They are thus most commonly used during BDSM activities such as ‘tit and clit torture’.

9. A slit mark in Donna’s pillow allowed feathers to spill onto her bed and bedroom floor. Made from the plucked feathers of chickens and ducks which have been raised for human consumption, feather pillows are known for being one of the lightest and most durable forms of head rest.

10. This gold necklace with a silver plate and rhinestone playboy pendant was worn by Donna Hardy as a fashion accessory. Bought from Argos in Colliers Wood, the necklace is thought to have been given to Donna as a gift.

11. This cherries sweet was found in Donna Hardy’s mouth upon her postmortem on August 17, 2011. Originating from a pack of ‘Tangfastics Haribo’, this gelatin sweet was once coverred in a sweet sugarry coating. The found condition of the sweet indicates that it had been sucked and bitten prior to Donna’s death. The sweet has thus been preserved here in its original found state.
